Pre-Event Info

Starting Location
The event will start from the soccer practice fields at Campbell University located at 298 Gregory Circle, Lillington, NC 27546

The soccer practice fields are located across the street from the athletic facility at 73 Eakes Drive.  Note, there are no street numbers visible from the road.

Participants and volunteers should park at the back of the field area and gather near the front of the parking area for the start.

Event Schedule
Friday, August 23, 5pm – 7pm: Packet Pick-up and Walk-up Registration at Inside-Out Sports (2002 Grisdale Lane, Cary, NC  27513)

Saturday, August 24:
  • 7am – 7:45pm: Packet Pick-up and Walk-up Registration at event start (298 Gregory Circle, Lillington, NC)
    • NOTE: Cash or Check only accepted at Walk-up registration
  • 8am: Ride departs Campbell University with a police escort
  • 10am – 1:30pm: Lunch stop at Hwy 421 Rest Area (8209 Taylors Bridge Highway, Clinton, NC) at mile 50.5
  • 5:30pm: All participants must check in at Waterline Brewing Company (721 Surry St, Wilmington, NC 28401)
  • 6:00pm: Bus departs Waterline Brewing Company to return to Campbell University.
  • 8:00pm: Bus and transported bikes arrive at Campbell University.
The 100-mile route is almost entirely on Highway 421.  Route details and links are available on route page of the event web site.

Turn by turn instructions will be handed out at the ride start along with a list of all convenience stores along the route.

Lunch will be provided at the midway point.

Tickets with cash value will be provided for participants to use at the designated ¾ stop (Sunoco at 14531 US-421 in Burgaw , mile 76.5) to purchase a small snack and small refreshment.

Participants should be prepared to purchase any additional items that might be required.

Post-Event Details
  • All participants can leave a single tagged bag at the start with any items that will be needed at the finish.  The bags will be transported to the finish and available at Waterline Brewing Company when the participant arrives.
    • Note: There are no showers available at Waterline Brewing Company but restrooms will be available.
  • A free beer and pizza will be provided for all participants at Waterline Brewing Company between 2pm and 5:30pm.
  • Participants are encouraged to spend time at Waterline Brewing Company and enjoy the live band that will be performing.  Family and friends are encouraged to attend as well.
  • Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase at Waterline Brewing Company.
Returning to the Start
  • There are still seats available on the charter bus returning to Campbell after the event.  Seats can be purchased at walk-up registration as availability remains.
  • Additional volunteers would be helpful.  Please recruit your family and friends.  Volunteer information and signup is available on the volunteer page of the event website.  We are offering great perks for volunteers!

Ride Requirements
  • Carry your cell phone on the ride.
  • Follow all traffic laws and traffic control devices.
  • Helmets are required.
  • Flashing red taillights are strongly suggested.
  • The temperatures are looking great for Saturdsay.  Let’s keep hoping for dry weather, too.  Unless there is extreme weather, the event will take place rain or shine.
  • In case of weather related event changes, notifications will be sent via participant emails through RaceReach, posted to facebook, and posted to the event website.
